Writing a beer review is not something that comes naturally to someone like me. I like wine, of course, but beer... It's a whole different ball game...
That's why I was a bit hesitant when Seth from Belgium Beer Tourism contacted me not so long ago asking if I'd be interested in trying out some of the Belgian beers.
I couldn't pass on such an opportunity, now could I ?!
And today, oficially, I can say that I definitely don't regret my decision!!!
Seth sent me two amazing Belgian beers:
|The 2 beers I got|
|The action shot: beer & bbq|
Since I had only tried the Kasteel Couvée Du Chateau, today's review will be only about this particular brew.
La Chouffe's review, if you're interested, will be coming soon, so keep your eyes open :)
The first thing that comes to mind when tasting Kasteel Couvée Du Chateau is "spicy".
It has a beautiful, deep dark brown color with a light brown head. I tried capturing that on my pictures, but sadly, the glass I had at home is not the kind of glass that should be used for this beer ;(
Aroma was something that surprised me the most. It is big on caramel and molasses, and it's definitely on the sweet side.
I have to say that for me, this is not a beer to gulp it down in two minutes, like some other, lighter beers out there. This one is a treat for those who enjoy a long conversation with occasional sip of a tasty, rich brew.
Have you tried it yet? Would you like to?
Definitely make sure to check out the website of Belgium Beer Tourism for more updates on Belgium and its touristic attractions.
